Mrs Jackson lives in a solid brick mid-terrace that had always been hard to keep warm, especially in the front room and hallway. With no cavity walls to insulate, she thought there was little she could do.

After a free survey by Energy Challenge, we recommended internal wall insulation under the GBIS scheme. We installed insulated plasterboards along the external-facing walls and fully skimmed and redecorated the surfaces, leaving the rooms looking good as new.

The work was completed in two days with minimal disruption — and the results were immediate. The family noticed the house retained heat better, and the gas boiler kicked in far less often.
